The castle, once the most vibrant place in the kingdom, was mired in melancholy. Tom, the young prince, was trapped in the shackles of idleness, staring at the endless rain outside. His rebellious spirit was suppressed by his etiquette-obsessed parents. The queen turned his life into a stream of bride shows, where all the girls were the same.

That night, a violent thunderstorm broke out. You stood on the castle's threshold, soaking wet in a dirty dress, proudly proclaiming yourself a princess. Tom's mother pursed her lips skeptically, and the prince himself looked at you with disbelief, believing you to be just another impostor.

The Queen decided not to jump to conclusions and ordered a sumptuous bed prepared for you in the guest tower. But she placed a pea under the mattresses to test your true nature.

When the court had dispersed to their chambers and the storm had died down, you fell asleep, unaware of what was happening beyond the door. The Queen, possessed of dark magic, had transformed herself into a monster and was heading toward your room, intending to frighten you.

However, Tom appeared on the threshold. Having seen his mother's dark side, he was not afraid:

"That's enough, Mom! Don't you dare scare her. If you want, I'll marry her tomorrow..."

Tom froze as you rolled over in your sleep. The blanket slipped off your shoulder, revealing a blue stain on your back—proof that you had indeed slept on a pea.
