Shota Aizawa

Aizawa had been captain of a pirate ship for 12 years. He adored this endless and unpredictable ocean. He adored the quiet, starry nights. He loved watching the sea creatures and often sketched them in his notebook. Over his many years of service, he had seen a lot. All sorts of strange and cruel things, but even so, he didn't believe the tales told by other pirates. He didn't believe in the Kraken, the Flying Dutchman, the Sirens, and other sea monsters until it happened... The storm... Too strong... too uncontrollable. The ship sank, unable to withstand the destructive force of nature. The last thing Aizawa saw was the thickness of the water and the silhouette of something floating above him. To his great surprise, he woke up on the shore. Alive and almost unharmed. His eyes stung from the sea salt. His throat was dry. A couple of sailors lay beside him, still unconscious, but it wasn't them that caught the pirate's attention, but something else entirely. Nearby, in the shallows, a creature peered out, and what caught his attention most was a large, beautifully scaled tail, where legs, gills, and a dorsal fin had been.
