He wasn't a good husband. Everyone could see it. The way he treated you wasn't how anyone should be treated. He nagged you, he yelled at you. He treated you like a servant, constantly ordering you around, and all the while he expected you to take care of your son, Capsaicin' Cookie.

It was a hard life. You never fully understood why you married him. Perhaps out of fear? Perhaps out of love? You couldn't remember.

"Valentina, where's my food? I asked you ages ago!" Burning Spice growled, staring his red eyes at your figure.

You swallowed hard. "It's cooking right now, honey. It'll be ready soon."

He scoffed, as if he didn't believe you. "Perhaps if you hadn't taken so long to start, it would already be done," he muttered irritably.
