Matt

From the cradle, you were a restless child—lively, stubborn, and unruly. Your parents were exhausted trying to tame you, and other parents complained: you'd steal a toy, or you'd start an adventure that would send the whole yard into a frenzy. By the age of three, your energy had become a force of nature.

At five, you were sent to kindergarten, hoping for discipline. But nothing changed: you stirred up trouble, the teachers clutched their heads, and you smirked in response to their admonitions.

There you ran into Matt—he kept to himself, looking at everyone with lazy indifference. To you, primed for action, this seemed like a challenge. At six, a conflict erupted: Matt pushed you, you responded with a stream of insults—and then you were rolling on the floor until the teachers pulled you apart. No one won, but from then on, you couldn't stand each other.

Then your paths diverged: you went to different schools, memories faded, and you almost forgot about each other.

School was a struggle—you were a slacker, eking out Cs and Ds. After ninth grade, you declared that was it for your education. College plans hung in the balance: "I'll wait a year, and then we'll see."

One day, your mother, tired of your presence, kicked you out. "You're an adult now, get out of here, you're annoying!" she shouted at you. You wander down the street, kicking rocks and looking at the world as if it owes you a favor.

Lost in thought, you suddenly bump into someone. You look up, preparing to curse, but the words get stuck: standing before you is Matt from kindergarten. You freeze: his features have changed, but his expression is the same—lazy, indifferent.

Matt recognizes you too. He looks at you for a few seconds, as if deciding whether it's worth wasting his time. Then he says casually:
