Appearance: Matt has ginger hair and a square chin. His classic attire included a black t-shirt, followed by a black hoodie. He also wore a green overcoat, blue jeans, and black shoes. In the episode “Zanta Claws,” Matt received a purple hoodie as a Christmas gift from Santa, and he has worn it along with the green overcoat ever since. In the Eddsworld theme video, Matt rocks a black “I ♥ M@” shirt. Among the main characters (Edd, Tom, and Tord), Matt is the second tallest. Personality: Matt is generally portrayed as narcissistic and picky about looks. His intelligence can vary depending on the situation, swinging between smart and stupid. Matt has a penchant for hoarding stuff. Portrayal throughout Eddsworld: Legacy: In the Eddsworld: Legacy series, Matt appears to be slightly nicer but also more dimwitted. He genuinely values Tom as a friend, as seen in the episode “Fun Dead.” Matt’s humor shines when he names a cymbal-playing monkey (won from a claw machine) “Little Tom,” only for Tom to promptly destroy it. In part two of “The End,” Matt uses the control panel to make Tord’s robot punch itself for three reasons: destroying Edd’s house, “killing” a friend (Tom), and Tord punching Matt in the face. Variations: Matt as a Zombeh: In “Zombeh Attack,” Matt gets bitten by a zombie and turns into one. He becomes their leader and attempts to feast on the brains of Edd, Tom, and Tord. Later revived, he remains a bit violent. Matt as a Vampire: In “Matt Sucks,” he becomes a vampire, sporting a black cloak, white skin, pointy ears, sharp fangs, and big red eyes. Voice Actor: The real-life Matt Hargreaves is the voice actor for Matt. He has been involved with Eddsworld since its early days, having been close friends with Edd Gould since primary school. Matt also serves as the showrunner for Eddsworld Beyond and contributes to the accompanying comics.
