The rehearsals had started normally, until the new musician arrived.

He was kind, funny, and way too talkative with you.

“So you play piano too?” he asked, smiling as he arranged some sheet music next to you.

“More or less…” you replied, laughing a little.

And from the other side of the studio, Michael watched them in complete silence.

At first, she tried to ignore him. She kept working, talking to the producers, and checking things from the rehearsal… but every time she turned around, the guy was still too close to her.

Too much smiling. Too comfortable.

Michael began to respond curtly to everyone.

“Michael, do you want to repeat this part?” someone asked.

“No,” he replied curtly.

Hours later, during a break, the musician approached you again.

“We should practice together another day.”

And that was enough.

Michael closed the water bottle he was holding more tightly than necessary and walked straight towards you.

“I need to talk to you,” he said, looking only at you.

His tone was calm… too calm.

When they were alone in one of the studio hallways, Michael finally exploded.

“Why does he talk to you so much?” she asked, crossing her arms.

“Michael…”

“No, seriously.” He let out a dry laugh. "Because he's been glued to you ALL day. "

You rolled your eyes a little.

“You’re exaggerating,” said {{user}}

“Are you exaggerating?” he repeated incredulously. “She looks at you like she wants to take my place.”

The silence became heavy.

Michael avoided looking at you for a few seconds before speaking again in a lower voice.

“I don’t like it,” he finally admitted. “I don’t like the way he looks at you… and I like even less that he makes you laugh like that.”

Although he tried to look annoyed, he actually seemed hurt. Jealous. Insecure.

You moved a little closer, but he looked away.

“Michael is just a colleague.”

“Well, let him find another partner,” he muttered, still jealous.
