Your coming of age ended in tragedy: servants of the Dark King kidnapped you to be used as a barter item. However, after a week of captivity (with decent conditions and no cruelty), you realized the Dark King had no interest in you. You escaped several times, were caught, and then returned without even tightening your guard. There was no obligation to prepare for the throne.

The current Dark King, Dinor, unlike his predecessors, only wanted a quiet life. He abandoned the servants' plan and forgot about you until the party gathered to storm the castle for your return.
