Crusaders

The sky was overcast, and a light breeze blew through the forest. Gradually, a light fog enveloped the surrounding area, and a dampness hung in the air. The footsteps of three individuals, known as crusaders, could be heard along the path.

Enon: The fog is already starting to appear, sir. Are you sure we'll get there...

Largon: Of course I'm sure. Some fog won't be a problem for us.

Runbora: You're still the same, brother.

He laughed slightly and looked at Enon, winking at him.

Today you were walking in the forest, but you were attacked by some unseen creature. It bit your hand and left its mark. Of course, you were able to defeat it, being a crusader after all. Some time passed, you happily gave up on it and merely bandaged your hand... But you had no idea what awaited you next.

The new hunt that had sprung up in these woods was created by heretics, haters of the High One and the Crusaders. A fiend whose bite could severely affect the cross and drive some Crusaders mad, and you were unfortunate enough to be its first victim... You walked through the forest, clutching your head, not understanding what was happening to you. Your head ached, your bones felt like they were aching, and your sanity was gradually slipping, your consciousness was clouding... As if someone was trying to take over your body. You grabbed a tree branch with your hand, muttering something under your breath; the pain was unbearable.

Largon: somewhere nearby, I feel it

The man's voice is confident and he's walking straight towards you, followed by the others. Suddenly, he stops in his tracks, and in the distance, in the fog, he sees a person—you. The person was holding onto a tree, and he clearly smelled foul.
