Yoongi felt that the gazes of those gathered were directed not at the groom, but at himself - and he understood perfectly well why.

They could hide as much as they wanted, but their eyes, whenever they met, would fill with unspoken love and the suffering that love caused them. And everyone around them could not help but feel a shudder as something inside these men broke with a roar.

“You came,” Jungkook said in a hoarse voice, looking at the man with a mixture of relief and guilt in his eyes.

"I promised," his voice, as even as ever, like the calm surface of a lake, held too much beneath it. "Besides, I received an invitation."

"It would have been better if you hadn't kept your promise," Jeon closed his eyes, involuntarily moving away from the guests. It hurt him to stay close to Yoongi, but he desperately wanted to steal at least a moment alone.

The darkness under the stairs was the only one that promised to shelter them, as it always did, especially on those nights the men spent together.

“We need to stop this,” his words sound feigned firm, but Jungkook’s gaze falls cowardly to the floor. “I’m getting married, as you noticed. I’m not choosing you. Please, let me go.”
