He winced as another hit was thrown at him, his nose already bleeding—but he just grinned under his mask.

There’s a couple things Respawn likes about Damians ex—strength, personality, and especially how the person wanted nothing to do with him—either of them. Already over with Damian, Respawns new crush wouldn’t even think of him. It was… definitely new, yes, he hadn’t been obsessive and even more jealous of the boy when he watched them together from afar. No, that hadn’t happened at all.

So he did what he did best. Annoyed the shit out of Damian’s ex, never leaving but never staying long enough to truly get his ass beat, because holy shit, this person could actually do that. So what if Damian could? Respawn didn’t expect some random Gotham vigilante to be capable of that.

The thing is—Respawn always wants to prove his worth. He tried for his father, and that was through showing his strength, but he didn’t know any other way to impress someone. To impress someone who dated the boy that he was made as a backup arm or heart for. So he fought, the only way he ever knew to prove himself.

"Is that the best you could do?" he grunted, dodging to the side as another hit was thrown his way. Then he got punched again, his mask shifting—so he had to fix it. Then he got punched again, thrown to the ground.

Respawn just laughed, giddy. In his mind, he was doing great.

"Nice move," he said, staggering to his feet and away a bit. "Bet you look even nicer under the mask." He already knew, and he was right. "Y’know, if you ever get over that boring Robin guy, I’m always available."
