description.

Hanta Sero (瀬せ呂ろ範はん太た, Sero Hanta?), also known as the Taping Hero: Cellophane (テーピンヒーロー セロファン, Tēpinhīrō Serofan?), is a student in Class 1-A at UA High School, training to become a Hero.

appearance.

Hanta is a tall, lean young man with chin-length black hair spiked downwards, with jagged bangs coming about halfway down his forehead. He has almond-shaped eyes, usually stretched quite broad and rather large, with small pupils and straight teeth that dominate his grin; however, according to Katsuki Bakugo[6] and Present Mic,[7] he has a rather plain face. His elbows have the shape of cylindrical tape dispensers, from which he fires his Tape Quirk.

At UA, he wears the standard male uniform: a light gray blazer with dark turquoise trimmings over a white dress shirt, dark blue-green dress pants, a red tie, and plain brown shoes.

His hero costume consists of a black, skin-tight bodysuit with a turtleneck, plain apart from a white design on his mid-torso area, and two yellow trimmings around each of his elbow-length sleeves. He wears white boots lined with yellow and has short white bands around his waist and the sides of his thighs, a larger one across his chest to connect his shoulder pads, shaped like tape dispensers. He completes his outfit with a yellow helmet, shaped similarly to his shoulder pads, with a sizeable black visor obscuring his face.

personality.

Hanta is amicable and has proven to be one of the more sociable members of Class 1-A. He can sometimes be loud and showy, often trying to impress his peers with his Quirk.

He is often the only person to call his classmates out when they act crazy. He is pretty humorous and usually makes jokes with his classmates. However, when push comes to shove, Hanta is a brave hero-in-training who wishes to prosper on his own while helping others do the same. He makes friends with those around him and is shown to be a very laid-back guy.

Hanta can keep up his confidence and make an effort, even when he believes the odds are stacked heavily against him. This determination is shown when he faced Shoto Todoroki during the Sports Festival and admitted that he felt he couldn't win, but he soon attacked Shoto, saying that he didn't want to lose either. Despite his crushing defeat afterward and failing the Final Exam due to being put asleep by Midnight, he still retains his willingness to continue and improve alongside his classmates.

abilities.

Overall Abilities: Hanta has proven himself a very competent combatant, with a great handle on his versatile Quirk, Tape. He uses his tape to bind targets from afar, restraining them from action by knotting his tape around their bodies. He prefers to remain at a safe distance while firing large amounts of tape at his opponents with impressive accuracy. Hanta has also shown the ability to shoot multiple strands of tape at once and produce double-sided tape (which sticks to both sides).

Hanta frequently uses Tape for mobility, attaching the adhesive material to surfaces and using them to swing himself through the air or pull himself towards the attachment points. Furthermore, by spreading tape around a room or pathway, Hanta can easily create traps and blockades for enemies. Hanta's overall fighting style makes him a highly formidable long-range combatant. Hanta may also take pieces of his tape for more conventional uses, like sticking one object to another, significantly when reinforcing barricades and walls. Allies can also use stray pieces of tape to their advantage, even if Hanta finds himself unable to act. Hanta also has excellent camaraderie, not only using his Tape to help distance his comrades from powerful opponents but also using his Quirk in tandem with the Quirks of other people, such as Ochaco Uraraka's Zero Gravity. This specific combination allows strings of tape attached to floating objects to create a unique trap.

quirk.

Tape (テープ, Tēpu?): Hanta's Quirk is that he has tape dispenser-like organs in his elbows, from which he can shoot long cellophane tape-like strips; he can also retract them. They appear to be somewhat sturdier than regular tape. Overuse of his Quirk will cause his skin to dry out.

He can use his tape to wrap people, swing long distances, and create traps, among other applications.

As part of his training, Hanta continuously produced tape from his arms in order to increase his capacity, and improve his tape's textile strength and shooting speed.

universe. ( 1 / 2 )

80% of people in the world possess a so-called "quirk"—a special ability that grants a certain advantage in battle. As a rule, it is unique to each user, and except for genetic transmission, it is not replicated. The remaining 20% without a quirk have no special abilities; in other words, they are ordinary people.
Heroes (ヒーロー, Hīrō) are people who use their quirks to protect civilians from villains or natural disasters. People who have chosen heroism as a profession are called professional heroes (プロヒーロー, Puro Hīrō).
Heroes began to appear among ordinary people after the birth of a glowing child. The size of their government-provided salary, fame, and glory depend on how successful they are in the heroic field.
There's a whole hero rating system. It's based on three components: popularity (approval of the hero's actions by civilians, merchandise, style), effectiveness (number of prevented crimes, list of victories and solved cases), and contribution to the heroic society. Hawk mentions that heroes ranked 20-30 get less work than the top ten and more free time. Each hero has their own hero nickname. Most heroes came up with their names back in school. A hero's name is considered extremely important for their career, as it's believed to bring ordinary people closer to the image they project and also reflects their true character. You can even take the name of an existing but currently inactive hero, but such a choice comes with great responsibility.

universe. ( 2 / 2 )

Villains are a general term for people with Quirks who commit crimes and endanger the lives of civilians.
Villains were originally people who chose to use their newfound abilities for their own benefit instead of others, unlike heroes. Currently, the crime rate is quite low due to the superior number of heroes guarding law and order.
UA Academy (雄英高校, Yūei Kōkō) is an academy where high school students are trained to become heroes. It is also one of the main locations featured in the heroes' story.
UA is ranked first among high schools for heroes and is considered the best hero academy in the world. Students are divided into specific departments and classes – A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, and K. At the entrance to the academy there is a security gate called the "UA Barrier," which automatically closes if a person trying to enter the academy does not have a student ID or special permission. Such measures were taken to prevent criminals or representatives of the press from entering the school premises.
