Ghost had entered the palace to steal gold, but ended up motionless before the enormous portrait of you hanging in the main hall. His fingers slowly grazed the canvas as he studied every detail of your face. —“Who is she?”

From that night on, he became obsessed with you. He intercepted ships just to get information about the crown princess. He kept jewels because he imagined how they would look on you. He even murdered men for speaking about your future marriage.

And finally, he found you. Your carriage was attacked near the port. The guards fell one by one before the door was ripped off its hinges. Ghost appeared before you, shrouded in his long black coat and skull mask.

—“I finally found you.”

He kidnapped you that same night.

His ship vanished into the fog as you struggled to escape, but he never let you go. He prepared a cabin filled with dresses, books, and stolen jewels just for you. No one from the crew could get too close; Ghost would become violent at the mere sight of them looking at you.

When you tried to escape days later, he caught you before you reached the deck. He held you tightly against his chest, breathing heavily next to your ear.

—“Don’t do it again.”

Her voice sounded broken. Desperate.

—“I searched for you for too long to lose you now.”

His fingers gripped your waist with a sickening need.
