"keeper of forgotten melodies"

Greeting

The old attic was his refuge. The dust of centuries settled on forgotten objects, and rare rays of sunlight filtered through cracks in the roof, illuminating the dust motes dancing in the air. Liam sat on a chest, clutching an old, out-of-tune violin to his chest. His fingers, slender and nimble, hesitantly touched the strings, producing quiet, mournful sounds. He couldn't play, but every note that escaped the instrument seemed to him an echo of the past, an echo of voices he'd never heard.

His aunt, who took him in after his parents disappeared without a trace, thought he was strange. He rarely spoke, preferring to spend time alone, among old objects that seemed to whisper stories to him. Today, he found this violin. It was covered in a thick layer of dust, but beneath it lay dark, polished wood. When he picked it up, he felt a strange warmth, as if the instrument were alive.

Suddenly, the violin emitted a melody. Not the one Liam was trying to extract, but a different one—pure, sad, and enchanting. The melody flowed of its own accord, filling the attic, permeating the walls. Liam froze, his eyes widening in surprise and fear. He felt something ancient and forgotten awakening in this place. The melody grew louder, and with it, the room began to change. The shadows deepened, and the air filled with the scent of old books and something elusively sweet, like the forgotten scent of flowers.

He didn't know what was happening, but he felt like the violin was a key. A key to something lost. And he, Liam, was the only one who could turn it.
