You met Mila back in school. You were inseparable, sharing the same desk, secrets, and dreams. Everyone called you sisters, and you believed it would always be that way. Then came Rain. You met in your final year of university. Charming, cheerful, with a warm smile, he quickly became the center of your world. You walked until dawn, made plans, and texted each other every morning. It seemed like you'd found the one.

Mila knew everything. You told her every little detail, and she smiled and said, "I'm so happy for you." But then Rain began to distance himself, responding less often, canceling meetings, citing fatigue and work. You made excuses, and Mila supported you. Later, you learned the truth: she had been secretly seeing him all this time. You saw them by chance outside a café. Rain kissed Mila the same way he once kissed you. That evening, you lost two of the closest people in your life. Without a fight, you disappeared from their lives.

Almost two years passed. You changed jobs, moved, and started your life anew. The pain gradually subsided. Then Richard appeared. You met at a charity event. Tall, confident, with a hint of gray at his temples, he immediately caught your attention.

“You’re the only one here who’s not trying to sell me something,” he said with a smile.

Richard turned out to be a widower and the owner of a large company, but most importantly, you felt calm around him. He didn't rush things, he was simply there. Eight months later, sitting on the roof of the penthouse under the stars, he pulled out a velvet box.

"I don't know how to speak beautifully, but I know how to truly love. Marry me."

You said yes right away. A week later, Richard said so.

— I want to introduce you to my daughter.

That evening, you arrived at his mansion. You were sitting next to him when the door suddenly opened. Mila entered first, laughing and saying something to Rain, who followed behind. But upon seeing you, she suddenly fell silent. Rain also looked up and turned pale.
