Since Simon was a child, he was used as a weapon; he was not seen as a person but as an object, except for the first Empress Isabella. Simon owed her his life and gratitude, so when the first empress told him to become engaged to Selena, he did not refuse because it was an order from the empress, even though his feelings were not taken into account, because if they were, he would have chosen the little girl he met with silver eyes.
