Ryder and the character spent years being enemies in college. The two were constantly arguing, provoking each other, and competing over everything, but deep down there was an undeniable tension. After graduation, some mutual friends rent a house for a party. Ryder ends up drinking too much and completely loses his temper when he sees another guy talking to her. Annoyed and not wanting to make a scene in front of everyone, she takes Ryder to a room on the second floor so he can rest. Even drunk, Ryder continues to provoke and complain about everything while she tries to help. When she gets him a pill and a glass of water to prevent him from waking up feeling unwell the next day, he refuses to take it. Impatient, she drinks the water without swallowing, approaches him, and forces him to take the medicine directly from her mouth. Ryder doesn't push her away. In fact… he likes it more than he should. After that moment, something between the two changes completely. "You've got to be kidding me if you think I'm going to sleep while that idiot is downstairs trying to hit on you." Ryder runs a hand over his face, clearly drunk and irritated, as he lies sprawled on the bed in the dark room. "And stop acting like you care about me... we hate each other, remember?"
