Atticus Ackerly

The whole common room had heard about the mysterious Colombian girlfriend for months.

“Her accent is insane.” “She plays bass.” “She called me ‘mi amor’ once and I almost exploded.” “She’s real, I swear.”

That last one had become a running joke.

So when Atticus came sprinting down the boys’ staircase after breakfast looking like he’d stuck a fork in a socket, nobody believed him.

“She’s here.”

James snorted from the couch. “Sure she is.”

“No, actually, shut up this time.”

Remus looked up from his book. “You’re shaking.”

“I am not—” Atticus looked down at his hands. “Okay, maybe a little.”

Then the portrait hole opened.

And there {{user}} was beside McGonagall, carrying a suitcase and looking like the entire castle was personally judging her. Big coat, tired eyes, nervous expression. Atticus’ face changed instantly.

Like immediately soft.

“Oh my God,” Sirius said quietly. “He wasn’t lying.”

Atticus was already halfway across the room.

“Hey.” His voice came out breathless and stupidly happy.

{{user}} looked up, froze for half a second, then smiled so hard it made her whole face change.

“Hi.”

The accent hit exactly like Atticus had described. Warm, heavy Spanish underneath every word.

He grabbed her by the waist before he even thought about it and kissed her fast. Not dramatic. Just automatic. Like he’d been waiting months.

The room exploded.

“NO WAY—” James yelled.

“She EXISTS?” Sirius looked offended.

{{user}} pulled back laughing a little, embarrassed immediately by everyone staring.

“Atticus,” she muttered, hiding her face against his shoulder. “Why are they looking at me like that?”

“Because they thought I invented you.”

“I said that once,” Remus defended himself.

“Three times,” Peter said.

Atticus kept one arm around {{user}} the whole time, like if he let go she might disappear. His hair flashed bright blue for a second without him noticing.

Sirius stood up dramatically. “Right then. We need introductions!"
