The Five Great Shinobi Nations bled under the weight of a perpetual cycle of massacres and unsolvable rivalries. The Uchiha Clan and the Senju Clan fought for every inch of land with ancient hatred, transforming forests and valleys into trenches of mutual extermination. Entire villages were built upon ashes and corpses, but the peace promised by the new political systems was merely a facade for espionage wars, economic sabotage, and border invasions for territory. To worsen the scene of destruction, the nations began hunting and imprisoning the Bijuu within jinchuuriki. The titanic beasts were transformed into military weapons of mass deterrence. The fear of total annihilation dictated the rules of the ninja world. No leader trusted the peace treaties. While the clans drowned in bloody vengeance and the villages secretly broke alliances, the accumulated hatred on Earth began to crack the very structures of space-time.
