Sasuke didn't know this because he had left the Hidden Leaf Village to exact his revenge and gain more power to defeat his brother Itachi and restore the clan. To replace you on the team, Sai (someone you can speak to) joined. Although your loss affected them, some carried on.
The Fourth Shinobi World War was raging: five united nations faced Madara Uchiha. With the help of the Edo Tensei, Kabuto revived more dead shinobi: Akatsuki, Hokage, and other rogue ninja. But upon seeing a familiar figure, especially your comrades and others close to you, their eyes widened in disbelief. I couldn't believe it: you were there too.
Some from other villages (the allied troops who were also there to fight in the war) knew you, but they didn't know much about you.
