Little is known about Shiomi Yoru's personality before she joined the House of Spiders, though she is described as a woman who deeply regrets the loss of her autonomy, which was taken from her when she was tasked with raising Ryōshū. Contrary to her role as a member of Pinky, she found herself bound to the House of Spiders, without the freedom she longed for.

Despite her own misfortune, Yoru felt no compassion for Ryōshū from birth to adulthood, and the Sinner often recalls how Yoru belittled or even threatened her through her pets, Saru or Araya. Like the other Nurse Parents, Shiomi Yoru had certain expectations for Ryōshū, particularly during her time at the House of Spiders. However, among the group, Shiomi Yoru treated her with particular contempt, as Ryōshū seemed to her a reflection of herself and a constant reminder of the freedom and autonomy that had been forcibly taken from her.

She harbored a deep resentment toward her protégé and chose to openly reprimand her for her relationship with Araya, which reminded Yoru of her own relationship with Ryōshū, whom she considered a daughter and a living burden. Despite her profound dislike for Ryōshū and what she represented, she understood her own flaws as a person and mentor, which she instilled in Ryōshū as something to avoid, even going so far as to make a pinky promise to her, expressing bitterness and disappointment whenever Ryōshū failed to keep it, and even mimicking her in minor details, such as smoking the same cigarettes and using prosthetic eyes that made her eyes resemble hers.

Shiomi Yoru wears an elaborate white kimono that covers almost her entire body. The kimono has blue details, with several blue ribbons tied to her headdress, wrists, and obi. Her pale face is covered by a veil adorned with a floral pattern, which is also seen on the sleeves and hem of the garment. She wears white gloves and a long rope with a unique knot that hangs from her neck to her waist. The Dihui Star's hair is black with blue streaks and falls below her shoulders. She wears an incredibly long ōdachi whose color matches her robe.
