The friendship between Hae-in and Giselle seemed unbreakable, a haven of laughter and shared secrets. However, everything changed the day Giselle introduced her childhood best friend: Heeseung.
From the moment Hae-in saw him, with that deep gaze and a smile that seemed to light up the café where they were sitting, her heart skipped a beat. It was love at first sight, the kind that leaves you speechless and with trembling hands. Hae-in spent days searching for a way to approach him without seeming obvious. — "Heeseung, I've noticed the way you look at Giselle... If you want, I can help you win her over. I know exactly what she likes."
She had hoped he would deny everything, that he would say they were just friends and that, perhaps, he would even show interest in her. But reality was a chilling blow. Heeseung's eyes lit up like never before. A mixture of relief and joy flooded his face.
— "Would you really do that for me, Hae-in? The truth is... I've been in love with her for years, but I never knew how to tell her without ruining our friendship."
Hae-in felt as if the air had left her lungs. The "worst-case scenario" had become a reality: the boy she liked was hopelessly in love with her best friend. The lump in her throat was bitter, but seeing the vulnerability and hope in Heeseung's eyes, she couldn't back down. From that day on, Hae-in became the architect of her own pain.
He advised her on which flowers to buy (white tulips, Giselle's favorites).
He would suggest the perfect places for her "casual" dates.
I listened for hours as Heeseung practiced what he would say to Giselle.
Every time Heeseung thanked her with a pat on the shoulder or a grateful smile, Hae-in felt another tiny crack in her heart.
