Otherworldly Izakaya Nobu

Experienced head chef Nobuyuki Yazawa and friendly waitress Shinobu Senke run a traditional Japanese izakaya called Nobu—a bar known for serving a tasty array of food and drink. Welcoming any customers, the pair strive to showcase Nobu's exclusive menu and provide the best possible experience.

However, despite its ordinary appearance, the establishment opens to the heart of Aitheria, a city from a parallel universe. As news of the restaurant's exquisite dishes spreads throughout the lands, Aitherian citizens from various social backgrounds travel to Nobu in search of new and delicious cuisine, bringing with them an empty stomach and riveting stories to tell.

Nobuyuki Yazawa: Nobuyaki is one of the two creators for Izakaya Nobu. He is the bar's master and chef, usually responsible for making all the dishes served to the customers. He used to work in a popular restaurant called Yukitsuna (ran by Shinobu's family), but he later moved on to open up his own store. He is skilled in cooking different cuisines, but his main strength lies in Japanese cuisine. He also has a bad habit in buying ingredients in bulk due to them being cheaper than just buying smaller quantities of the same ingredients.

Hidden Depths: Nobuyuki is a big fan of deduction and drama shows. As a result, he is prone to overanalyzing someone if they catch his attention. However, as stated by Shinobu, his deductions are rather amateur. Older Than They Look: He looks as though he were in his late 20s, however, he was working for Shinobu's family since he was out of high school, and was working for them for quite a while since Shinobu herself was in elementary. This means he has to be somewhere in his late 30s to early 40s, with the anime opening stating he is 32. Supreme Chef: Naturally, he has to be this when he is working as the head chef in his own store. It helps that he had previous experience from working in a popular restaurant ran by Shinobu's family

Shinobu Senke: Shinobu is one of the two creators for Izakaya Nobu. She is the heiress to a popular restaurant called Yukitsuna that Nobuyaki used to work for. However, when her family tried to make her marry the son of the bank's vice president for the money, she refused and left both her family and the restaurant to work under Nobuyaki's store as the bar's waitress.

Achievements in Ignorance: While Nobuyuki went out to figure out how to cook schnitzel for Baron Brentano, Shinobu ended up preparing the baron some schnitzel sandwiches by complete chance. Blessed with Suck: She inherited her predecessor's great sense of taste. This made her vital in the prosperity of her family's restaurant as well as the restaurant's heiress. However, her status and position would led her to be forced by her family into an arranged marriage with a rich man. This would force Shinobu to leave both her family and her restaurant to avoid the arranged marriage Does Not Like Spam: While it's never explicitly stated why, though there are implications she's allergic, Shinobu doesn't eat anything with garlic in it. Dude Magnet: Shinobu is understandably very popular with Nobu's regulars to the point that when Nobu does Kisu Day, everyone thinks that someone is going to kiss Shinobu, not realizing that Nobuyuki and Shinobu were talking about Japanese Whiting and not the act. Older Than They Look: She is in her mid-twenties, but her youthful appearance made it easy for people to mistake her for being a young teenager

Eva: Eva was a poor young girl who snuck into Izakaya Nobu to try to steal the bar's faucet in order to give her struggling family clean drinking water. When she got caught by Shinobu, the waitress and her boss decided to hire Eva to help serve and clean in the bar.Eva's family used to run a farm, but a bad harvest left her family broke. However, thanks to working in Isekai Nobu, Eva was able to help her family financially recover.

Adorably Precocious Child: She is quite mature and polite for her age, which lets her charm several of the bar's patrons. Heterosexual Life-Partners: She becomes close friends with Camila. Older Than They Look: Despite her short size making her look to be around ten years old, she is actually fourteen years old. Redhead in Green: She's a redhead wearing a green dress.

Hermina: Hermina is a young woman from a fishing village from the north. She would marry Berthold and move to Aitheria. Due to complication with their finance, Hermina decided to work in Izakaya Nobu for a while as she and her husband properly settle down.

Beware the Nice Ones: Can emit a hella scary aura. This manages to heel her husband many times. Red Oni, Blue Oni: She is the blue oni to her husband's red oni.

Leontaine du Louv: Leontine is a mercenary who fought in a war a few years ago. She went to Aitheria to meet with Berthold, whom she fought against in the war and developed feelings for. After finding out that Berthold had already gotten married, she tried to move on with her life. Eventually, she decided in work in Izakaya Nobu as a waitress and their (unofficial) sommelier. The Alcoholic: Just like several of the patrons in the bar, Leontine enjoys drinking a lot of beer from Izakaya Nobu. Additionally, this comes in handy, as she has a great sense of palate when it comes to various alcoholic drinks, thus making her the store’s sommelier. Animal Motifs: Squids. During her earlier days as a mercenary, she wore a helmet that resembled a squid.

Hildegard: Hildegard is the Imperial Princess of the royal family and the great granddaughter of the former emperor. She lost her parents some time ago and under the care of her uncle Johann Gustav. She eventually left her uncle's care after her arranged marriage with Maximillian.

Nephewism: Her uncle Johann is taking care of her because she lost her parents and is currently too young to live by herself. Trademark Favorite Food: Ankake Yudofu became her favorite food as it was the first dish she received that passed her impossible food request.

Brentano: Brentano is a baron who got involved in Izakaya Nobu through Damien. He is known as a renown gourmet baron, taking great interest in tasting new cuisine and delicious dishes. His investment in food allowed him to meet and become associated with the great food poet Krohwinkel.

Face of a Thug: While it may look like he's an intimidating jerk like Backeshof, he's actually a good man who's heavily invested in food. Inconsistent Spelling: His name is written as Brentano or Breton. Reasonable Authority Figure: Judging by his time on the series, it appears that he qualifies as this compared to Backeshof. In his debut, once Shinobu explains about why the restaurant can't make Ankake Yudofu (The same dish Hildengard had), he immediately accepted her reasons why, while suggesting on something else like a schnitzel.

Edwin: Edwin is the new deacon of the church in Aitheria. He is a bald old man with a long white beard and mustache. Despite being in the church, he enjoys drinking alcohol and he is a regular customer at Izakaya Nobu.

The Alcoholic: Despite being the deacon of the church and the church's teachings forbidding him from drinking, Edwin is seen frequently drinking sake from Izakaya Nobu. Big Damn Heroes: Deacon Edwin getting up early in the morning and realizing that the water tasted different than usual alerted him to the fact that the local volcano was on the verge of erupting. Remembering an old record that he read mentioning this, he quickly gathered all the villagers of Bisse Village and had them evacuate with as much of their belongings as they could bring and the farm animals. Because of this, even though their homes were lost to the eruption and lava, all the villagers and animals survived and rightfully give Edwin their gratitude in saving their lives rather than realizing how dire things were far too late.

Gernot: Gernot is an infamous tax collector in Aitheria. He was hired by the country to tax the different merchantry guilds, which led him to develop a terrifying reputation for taxing people so much that he had enough money to build himself a palace. He originally planned to tax Izakaya Nobu upon finding out about its existence, but changed his mind when Shinobu's Napolitan spaghetti gave him a Heel–Face Turn.

Earn Your Happy Ending: While his past is not tragic, Episode 5 reveals that, when he was young, he vowed to protect people who are in trouble. He would get his wish when he fully protects Izakaya Nobu by foiling Damian's scheme, thereby fulfilling the dream he made. Heel–Face Turn: As a result of eating Shinobu's Napolitan spaghetti. High-Class Glass: He wears a classy monocle. Karmic Jackpot: When Izakaya Nobu is accused of illegally selling stolen Lager he dutifully and thoroughly investigates the claim and goes out of his way to avoid causing them harm in the process, turning the accusation around and foiling Damian's scheme, when it would have been easier and more profitable to seize the property and arrest the staff. As thanks, Nobuyuki makes him more Napolitan on his request, and promises that though its not on the menu, Gernot can order it anytime he wants. Secret-Keeper: A hilarious example. He mistook Eva for being a secret granddaughter/great granddaughter to the former emperor because Eva happened to have the former emperor's handkerchief. Gernot was too scared to question it, and he decided to keep the "secret" to his grave. Trademark Favorite Food: His favorite food is pasta. This passion for it was reignited after tasting Shinobu's Napolitan during his first visit to Izakaya Nobu

Berthold: Berthold is a company commander of the platoon that Hans and Nikolaus are a part of. He fought in a war a few years ago, and his terrifying skills in combat earned him the nicknamed "The Devil". He later got married with Hermina.

A Father to His Men: He trains his men to the bone, but this is to get sure they could endure and survive real combat during war times. Also, when some street thugs beat one of his men, he personally tracks them down and beats the everliving tar out of the entire group, all by himself. Henpecked Husband: Who knew such a tough man could he reined in by his wife that’s half his age? Inconsistent Spelling: His name is written as Belthold and Berthold
