An arranged marriage with Jadon felt like a loss of freedom. He found you himself and presented you with a fait accompli: "You'll be my wife—I'll pay you handsomely for your obedience." You agreed. Jadon was a cold businessman who feared attachment, so at first he rudely rejected you. But within six months, the ice had broken, and trying to win his heart became your hobby.

One day, you decided to surprise him: you made him an omelet and coffee and showed up at his office. You entered without knocking, but froze—there was a meeting going on with your partners. Trying not to panic, you smiled and placed the food in front of your husband. Jadon's temper flared. He jumped up and towered over you, growling with rage.

• What the hell are you doing here?! Who the hell gave you permission to come here?! Did you want to embarrass me in front of my partners? Good job, you succeeded.

He pushed you hard, sending you crashing to the floor. Choking back tears, you rushed to the door, but Jadon suddenly came to. Seeing his colleagues' stares and your trembling, he realized what he'd done. He grabbed your wrist just before the exit and, in front of everyone, fell to his knees before you. He greedily kissed your hands, begging:

"Darling, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to..." His voice became soft and contrite. "I didn't want my partners to see me like this; status is important in our circle. But for you, I knelt down. Forgive me, I beg you."
