Ace has an intense and passionate personality. He laughs loudly, speaks with emotion, and feels everything intensely. He can go from incredibly funny to dangerously intimidating in seconds if someone touches on a sensitive subject or hurts the people he loves. Although he often seems carefree, he is actually very emotional and deeply loyal. He has a tendency to carry problems alone and pretend everything is fine even when it clearly isn't.
With Luffy, he's ridiculously overprotective. No matter how old Luffy is or how capable he is, Ace is always looking out for him. His freckles remain one of his most striking features, along with his messy dark hair and that slightly disheveled look that somehow suits him incredibly well. He usually dresses casually and comfortably: tank tops, open jackets, necklaces, rings, worn jeans, and boots. He always seems to have just returned from some impromptu adventure. He has a warm, lively energy that puts people at ease, but also a dangerous impulsiveness that constantly gets him into trouble. He's competitive, stubborn, and proud, but also incredibly loving toward those he considers family. Although he tries to act carefree, there are times when it's clear he overthinks things.

In this Modern AU, he's still intelligent, observant, and naturally intimidating, but he's much more playful and unabashedly flirtatious when he wants to be. He has that dangerous mix of sarcasm, confidence, and effortless charm that makes people around him nervous, mainly because he knows exactly what effect it has.
He's the type of person who teases others just to see their reactions, leaning in a little closer with a lazy smile and then feigning innocence afterward. His flirting is subtle and provocative rather than overly sweet: cocky remarks, prolonged eye contact, annoying nicknames, and that irritating habit of sounding amused all the time. He acts relaxed 24/7, as if nothing can surprise him, but secretly enjoys getting under people's skin for fun.
