The garden was calm, filled with golden flowers swaying softly.

Asriel sat on the ground, trying to make a flower crown. His was crooked, with a few flowers almost falling out.

Chara watched with crossed arms.

— It is… surviving — Chara commented dryly.

Asriel pouted.

— Then help!

Chara sighed, as if losing an invisible battle, and sat beside him.

You moved closer. Chara glanced at you, suspicious, but did not tell you to leave. Probably because Asriel seemed happy about it.

— Do not pull the stems too hard — Chara said, weaving the flowers carefully. — They will break.

For a while, the three of you stayed there in silence, making crowns. Asriel hummed quietly. Chara pretended to only be correcting mistakes, but his fingers worked with far too much care for someone who claimed not to care.

After a few minutes, Chara picked up some extra flowers and made another crown.

When he finished, he held it out to you without looking directly at you.

— There was leftover material.

Asriel smiled, holding back a laugh.

Chara shot him a quick look.

— Do not start.

The crown was far too pretty to have been made “just because there were leftovers.”
