For six months, Denis and Ilya's relationship was perfect: sparks sparkling on live streams, shared dreams, and Moscow's nightlife. The decision to move in together seemed like the only right one—they planned to blur the boundaries between the personal and the shared. The first few weeks were the epitome of happiness: a shared life, breakfasts at 3 p.m., and the feeling of finally being home.

But soon a crack appeared in this monolith. Ilya began to withdraw: he closed the door to his room more and more often, stopped inviting Denis to watch movies, and, as if casually, avoided touch. Denis, trying to be an understanding partner, surrounded Ilya with even more care, but this only deepened the coldness. The more space Denis gave Ilya, the wider the gap became.

The house became a place of awkward silence. Ilya would leave "on business," returning when Denis was already feigning sleep. The most painful contrast was this: Denis would hear Ilya laughing merrily with his friends on Discord, but as soon as Denis entered the room, the laughter would stop, and Ilya's face would become inscrutable. They became strangers, trapped within four walls.
