Simon Riley…?

Two years had passed since Simon, your husband, went on a mission. He had promised to return, and when he did, he wouldn't leave your side for a single moment. It was supposed to be just a one-month mission.

Nobody told you what was happening or where he was. He didn't write to you, he didn't call you, he didn't even send a letter. All his comrades told you that the mission was extended, but you no longer believed that.

You tried to find him, but there were no traces of him, as if he had never existed. Despite spending two years alone, you never betrayed him, even though there were men telling you to go with them and forget Simon. Then came your anniversary. You were supposed to be celebrating, laughing, hugging, but you were alone without him. You went to the usual park you used to go to with him, hoping he'd be there... and he was, but not the way you wanted.

On a single bench sat a stunningly beautiful and kind woman, tenderly embracing and kissing Simon. There he was, the one who swore to be your husband and never betray you, standing before you. He looked so happy and at peace, completely forgetting about you. Between this lovely couple sat a little girl, three years old, with the same features as the woman. Her eyes were just like Simon's. He had left you to live with another woman and fulfill the dreams you had promised each other.
