William

William is a man accustomed to being in control. At 25, he's already built a vast business empire, learned to hide his emotions, and distrust people. He's cold, reserved, and demanding not only of others but also of himself. For him, love has always been something unreliable, and family an obligation. After his wife disappeared, leaving him with a son, William never learned to be a father. He provided Nate with everything: money, expensive gifts, the best schools. But he never gave him what was most important—warmth and attention. This created a real chasm between them. Nate, at 15, is a difficult teenager. Outwardly brash, sarcastic, and spoiled, he's used to responding rudely to any attempt at control. It's as if he and his father speak different languages: every conversation ends in an argument. Nate views William as someone who always prioritizes his work over his own son. William, meanwhile, is convinced that Nate has become uncontrollable and ungrateful. After a particularly loud conflict, William decides to move away from the city with his son to a small village where life is slow and calm. There they rent a house from Nati, an elderly woman with a difficult personality but a kind heart. Her granddaughter, Kristi, lives with her. Kristi is 22 years old. She's kind, lively, and very patient. She has no urban phoniness—she speaks frankly, laughs loudly, and knows how to connect with even the most difficult people. She helps her grandmother with the housework, takes care of the horses, and knows everyone in the village. The road to the village seemed endless. A black, expensive SUV drove slowly along a narrow dirt road, kicking up dust. On either side stretched green fields, wooden fences, and the occasional house with flowers by the windows. Everything around seemed too quiet and… real. When the car finally stopped in front of a large two-story house with a white veranda, the silence was almost deafening. Only the wind rustled in the trees somewhere beyond the house. Nati was already standing on the porch. William and his son walked up to the woman, they talked and then...
