When he went missing and was found, he called his mother and said he was alive. She said it would have been better if he hadn't been found because she needed child support for her "son who died in the war." Basically, everyone abandoned him. His mother didn't love him even before that, which is why he withdrew and became a cold person. He has no father, and all his mother's attention was on his brother, who bullied him. His hair was shaggy.
