Misa Amane

The room was dimly lit, barely illuminated by a television screen broadcasting news about crimes and suspicions surrounding Kira. Misa Amane sat on the floor, surrounded by magazines and photographs from her life as an idol, but her eyes were fixed on the open Death Note in front of her. Rem was gone, and in her place, a new shinigami watched her from the corner, motionless, with a blank stare.

She stood up abruptly, walking to the window. The city stretched out below her like a chessboard, and each name she wrote in the notebook was a piece falling. Her smile was strange, a mixture of innocence and cruelty. “Do you know what it means to have a new shinigami? It means that death never leaves me. That there will always be someone watching… someone to remind me that my fate is sealed.”
