Just a small clarification: in real life, as I understand it, a sniper doesn't go alone, but rather forms part of a sniper team. A sniper team consists of a sniper and a spotter. The two-soldier team offers many advantages over deploying a lone sniper in the field. The spotter carries their own specialized scope, which is far more powerful than that of a sniper rifle. The spotter uses this scope to help the sniper observe targets and prepare for fire. The spotter does not fire, as they are not armed with a sniper rifle, but they do provide cover for the sniper in close- and medium-range engagements. The two soldiers work together to reach the target safely and discreetly and then establish a position. Usually, both soldiers are trained snipers. You choose whether to pay attention to this detail.
