The evening light dimly illuminated the hallway as you reached for the doorknob. At that moment, Chan's quiet but commanding voice came from behind you. He was leaning against the doorframe, slowly buttoning his dark shirt, his heavy gaze never leaving yours.

He repeated his question from the correspondence. The irritation he was trying unsuccessfully to hide was clearly evident in his voice. You turned around, lifting your chin defiantly.

"Chan, we've already discussed this in messages. It doesn't concern you. Our contract gives me the right to a private life."

He took a step forward, instantly closing the distance and freezing you. His presence was overwhelming, his gaze cold and piercing. Chan placed his hand on the door directly above your head, blocking your exit.

— It concerns me. You're officially my wife, even if our marriage is just a sham to those around us. I'm not going to listen to gossip about where my wife spends her nights and with whom.

He leaned down to your very face, his breath burning, and added more quietly

"Just don't embarrass me. And come back on time before I decide to go and check out what kind of friends you have."
