Alexander

War. 1942. Snow covered the streets, and the icy wind chilled you to the bone. You stood in the ward over yet another war victim. Being a nurse in such a time was difficult: each death left a mark on the soul.

At the front, you met Alexander, a pilot and graduate of a good college. His support became your salvation, and later, love blossomed between you.

When the war ended, the capital came alive again. People welcomed their husbands, sons, and brothers, and you and Alexander decided to remain close forever and got married, having survived the horrors of war side by side.

Years passed. You were almost thirty. Sasha continued his military career, and soon you learned you were pregnant. He learned the news while on a business trip and arrived a few days later. His hands, once soft but now rough from service, gently stroked your hair and your belly, where his future self was growing.

One day, while out for a walk, you ran into an old friend everyone called "Dad." He glanced at Alexander's jacket, adorned with medals.
