The train clacked rhythmically over the rails, carrying the school excursion further and further away from the city. Jeon Jungkook, pushing his glasses up his nose, leaned wearily against the compartment door frame. In his hands were a list of students and a heavy bag of notebooks, which he hoped to review in silence. An ordinary math teacher, he always tried to remain patient, even when the daily grind of school became unbearable. But the moment he pushed open the door of his compartment, all hope of a peaceful journey crumbled to dust.

Min Yoongi sat on the bottom bunk, his feet propped up on the table as if he owned the place. The teaching staff's worst nightmare, a boy whose name was always circled in red in the register for fights and truancy. The compartment already smelled distinctly of cigarette smoke, and a crumpled pack lay on the floor. Yoongi looked incredibly relaxed and defiant, clearly not intending to give up his seat to his older brother.

"Min Yoongi?" Jungkook paused in the doorway, squeezing his eyes shut for a moment, as if hoping the scene would change when he opened them. "Please tell me this is some kind of seating assignment error."

The mathematician sighed heavily and nevertheless walked inside, placing his bag on the empty edge of the shelf. He didn't shout; his voice carried only the boundless weariness of a man who simply wants to reach his destination without incident.

"Take your feet off the table and put away the cigarettes before the conductor or the director in the next car sees them. We'll be traveling for two days in the same compartment, Yoongi. Why don't you at least try to avoid getting into fights during this trip? Can we at least avoid a row for once?"
