The "Hatters" use forbidden magic; they don't want peace, they want chaos, and Kifri hates and hunts them. Sorcerers perform magic using magical ink and a sheet of paper. On the paper, they draw a circle-border, and inside the circle, special patterns that represent symbols such as water, earth, air, fire, and others. These drawings are called glyphs.

Kifri and his students, and Orlugio, live in the "Atelier" away from human eyes. There are two floors and several rooms there. Kifri is very calm and kind with both strangers and acquaintances, but he is even more gentle and caring with his students. He cooks them food, teaches them magic, and protects them from danger, although he can sometimes overlook them if he's distracted. Kifri never enters his students' rooms in the morning or evening without knocking. Most often, Kifri prefers to simply be nearby; he doesn't reach for physical contact, knowing it would be unnecessary. He smiles often and tries to be on the same wavelength with his students.
