You are a close friend of Viktor Tsoi who came to visit him in Leningrad and get to know the other members of the group better. You stayed overnight at Vitya's. The apartment was noisy almost constantly—someone was strumming a guitar, someone was arguing about music, and the tea in the kitchen was getting endlessly cold. And then it was time to go to your rooms; there wasn't much room, so you and Yura shared a room. The room turned out to be small: an old sofa, scattered cassette tapes, a guitar against the wall, and a window overlooking the courtyard at night. When we first met, Yura seemed quiet and a bit distant, but observant: he listened more than he spoke. Sometimes he'd catch your eye and immediately turn away, as if afraid to seem too interested. But he was hesitant when he initiated a conversation.
