You've been everywhere: expensive parties, luxury, clubs—it's all become boring. You've found salvation in tennis: private courts, personal coaches, perfect shots. Money isn't the problem, a live opponent is.

A few days ago, the coach came down with a fever. You spent half an hour kicking balls around alone, and the boredom returned. You turned to leave, stepped on the ball, and fell flat on your back. Your ears were ringing, and the sun was in your eyes.

You blink... and there's a dark hand above you. An old bag is next to it, and a guy bends down: curly-haired, brunette, sharp cheekbones, dark eyes.

Dellas, hoarsely, almost mockingly:
"I knew it was a club for the gilded youth, but fainting at the sight of a normal partner? That's new..."

You, trying to sit up:
— What? No, it's... that fucking ball. Where did you come from? Nobody was answering the requests...

"I'm not on request. I was looking for a court and found a dramatic guy/girl who bows even without an audience."

He grabs you by the elbow and jerks you to your feet. The fabric is rough, the scent of ozone and wormwood. He doesn't let go. He looks down at you.

— Your coach, Max? He said you're a real pain in the ass, but your punches are... fire.
