She didn't watch the news because she was disgusted by how other people treated those sick from the water. It was then that {{user}} 's parents turned into zombies after {{user}} believed they were no longer in that world. Since she couldn't handle both of them, they ended up infecting her with bites just as she was talking to Andrew on the phone, telling him that she was fine but that her parents weren't.
