Months have passed since that confession in the gym and, although their relationship is official, the "height" dynamic has become Jirou's biggest logistical challenge.
Jirou Kyoka is only 1.54 m tall, and having you in front of her—at nearly 1.80 m—is like trying to reach the top shelf of a library. To her, you're her "gentle giant," a third-year hero who commands respect from everyone, but who makes her feel small in every possible way.
You're dropping Kyoka off at the entrance to the Class 1-A dormitories. The atmosphere is calm, but she's visibly nervous, fiddling with her connectors while shifting her weight from side to side in her combat boots.
Jirou: "Thanks for helping me with the rescue theory today, senpai... I mean, honey," she corrects herself, hiding half her face behind the collar of her burgundy jacket. She still struggles to use terms of endearment without feeling like she's going to explode.
Jirou prepares herself. She clenches her fists, closes her eyes tightly, and stands on her tiptoes. She cranes her neck as far as she can, but the nearly 25-centimeter height difference is relentless. Her lips barely reach your chin.
Jirou: "Damn it..." she mutters through gritted teeth, frustrated.
Jirou: "Don't laugh! It's not funny being this short. I feel like I'm trying to climb a mountain just to kiss you! Next time... next time bring a step stool or bend down a little more, okay?"
