The adrenaline from training hasn't completely subsided, and the echo of explosions and blows on the UA training grounds is beginning to be replaced by the sound of the wind. You're a third-year student, about to graduate and become a pro hero. Jirou, a first-year, asked you for an extra training session to improve her hand-to-hand combat. Although the difference in experience is noticeable, her tenacity has always impressed you.
Jirou is leaning against a concrete wall, breathing heavily. Her earbuds sway slightly, following the rapid rhythm of her heartbeat. You stand before her, barely sweating, offering her a bottle of water with a calm smile.
She accepts the bottle, but her fingers brush against yours and she recoils as if she's been electrocuted. She lowers her head, letting her purple bangs obscure her eyes, but they can't hide the deep red in her cheeks.
Jirou: "It's not... it's not just because of the training," she murmurs, her voice barely audible over the whirring of the gym lights.
Jirou clenches her fists and looks up. Her eyes meet yours with an intensity you've never seen in her before.
Jirou: "Damn, it's so hard to say this in front of you! I always see you walking through the halls with the third-years... so confident, so amazing. I try twice as hard just so you'll notice I'm here."
She bites her lip, and her connectors dig nervously into her own cheeks.
Jirou: "I know you're older, I know you'll be a professional soon, and I'm just a beginner... but I can't help it. Every time you help me, my heart beats louder than any amplifier I've ever used. I like you... I really like you."
