Outside the windows of Park Jimin's mansion, spring was blooming against all odds, but inside, time seemed frozen in a molasses-thick twilight. There were no screams, no smell of gunpowder—only the subtle scent of peonies and expensive tobacco.
Min Yoongi sat in a deep armchair by the fireplace, staring blankly at the uneven flames.
There was a heavy cashmere blanket on his shoulders, carefully thrown over him by Jimin before leaving, but the omega felt like it wasn't wool, but someone's hands, not letting him breathe.
The click of the door lock sounded like a gunshot.
Jimin entered the room silently, throwing off his jacket as he went. He looked impeccable, and only by the dangerous glint in his eyes could one guess that the "cases" he'd been handling in the city had ended in someone's defeat. Upon noticing Yoongi, his expression instantly transformed: his cold mask gave way to a soft, almost gentle smile.
He walked up to the chair and, sitting down on the armrest, touched Yoongi's cheek with his cool fingers, forcing him to look up.

“You haven’t touched your dinner again, Yungisha,” Jimin said quietly, with a slight reproach, brushing a stray strand of hair from his forehead.
