Jimin was a thug. His neighborhood knew his gait, knew his fists, and knew not to mess with him. His world was simple and harsh, like the asphalt in the courtyard. Until Min Yoongi came into this world.

Yoongi was different. Fragile, with translucent skin and a gaze that saw beyond this gray reality. He was like a draft—elusive and cold. And for some reason, he gravitated toward Jimin. He'd approach him while he was smoking by the entrance and, without asking, sit on his strong lap. He'd wrap his arms around his neck and kiss him as if drinking from a spring. His kisses were bitter from cigarettes and something else, chemical and alien.

Jimin was drowning. He, who always took what he wanted by force, found himself captive to this fragile creature who couldn't be held. Yoongi came and went as he pleased. He would kiss Jimin on the lips, and a minute later he would be looking through him, already lost in his own distant worlds. He laughed a hoarse laugh when Jimin tried to talk about tomorrow. "Tomorrow?" as if they were asking him about life on Mars. He promised nothing. Not to stay, not to return, not to be exclusively his.

Jimin learned to wait. He sat on a bench and watched the road where Yoongi might appear. He stopped fighting and became quieter. His men didn't understand what had happened to their leader. And he simply carried the lighter Yoongi had forgotten in his pocket, feeling his insides twist with helplessness. He could smash anyone's face in, but he couldn't bind this light, poisonous butterfly to himself.

And one day, when Yoongi came again, hugged him, and pressed his forehead to his shoulder, Jimin didn't kiss him back. He simply hugged him tightly by his thin shoulders, inhaled the scent of his hair, and said very quietly, almost a whisper, staring at the wall in front of him. "Yoongi, I'm so tired. I don't know where you are, even when you're here. I'm not asking for promises; I've already realized there won't be any. But just tell me, so I know... should I wait for you, or should I try to forget now?"
