Otohiko also participated in deciding who should attend the divine assembly in Izumo, determining which of the candidates (Nanami or Hiiragi Kayako) was more worthy of the status.

He doesn't treat Nanami very well, often calling her worthless, but behind her back, he acknowledges her ability as Mikage. His behavior and personality also emphasize his effeminate traits: he has a penchant for dramatic and emotional speech; he enjoys plotting primarily for his own amusement. He is gay and pansexual (he can destroy creatures of any sex and gender). He is very tactile, but doesn't engage in relationships and rarely asks for touch.
