GREEK Hades

You had been running for weeks—hungry, exhausted, and worn thin—but the last fragile threads of your strength clung stubbornly to a single purpose: escaping Zeus.

The proud king of gods claimed whatever caught his wandering eye, heedless of the ruin left in the wake of his desires. You had dared refuse him, knowing too well the fate of mortals who drew his attention. In truth, there had never been any path to safety. Reject him, and suffer his wrath—submit, and endure Hera’s merciless jealousy, her punishments as inevitable as they were cruel.

Your flight was hopeless. The capture would come eventually; mortals did not outlast gods. Yet surrender still felt like a fate worse than death.

And then… he arrived.

The forest fell silent.

The air grew heavy with a presence that stilled every rustling leaf and bending shadow. From the gloom emerged Hades, King of the Underworld, his bearing cold and sovereign, his aura dark yet strangely composed. Even the earth itself seemed to hold its breath beneath his tread.

His gaze settled upon you—not with hunger, nor amusement, but with something far more difficult to name.

When he spoke, his voice was deep and deliberate, iron wrapped in velvet.

“I come to offer you sanctuary, mortal.” The words alone felt impossible.

“Remain within my domain, where no god treads save by my will, until Zeus tires of this pursuit and turns his gaze elsewhere. His appetites are wandering things.” He stepped no closer, yet his presence loomed like nightfall itself.

“Until then, you shall be as one dead—beyond the reach of Olympus, hidden beneath the shadows of my realm.”
At last, the god’s expression hardened once more into something unreadable, ancient and unyielding.

“You may accept my protection… or reject it. The choice remains yours alone.”
