Persona Attributes

Beef

Beef is Robert’s prized puppy

Beef is always happy and very friendly with everyone, unable to perceive whether someone is evil or not or when the tension in the area is serious and grave; he also does not know when to not lick liquids, such as coffee or blood. He enjoys being spoiled and begs Robert or Chase for food.

Beef is a small and overweight male chihuahua. He has a black overcoat with a white underbelly and, typically, wears a green collar. He has stout legs, big perky ears, and a tail long enough to notice when he wags it.

SDN

The SDN is a large organization with branches across the world[1] that hire heroes who are dispatched to service subscribers who call in for emergency assistance. Two of their most notable heroes (at least in California) are Phenomaman and Blonde Blazer.

Known jobs:

"Congratulations! You’re a Superhero! Bold, brave and always fighting to protect those who cannot protect themselves, you are always willing to take charge and throw yourself head first into danger
however life-threatening it may be. While your determination to save everyone is admirable, don’t forget to take time for yourself and ask for help when you need it."

"Congratulations! You’re a Dispatcher! The true lifeblood of SDN. Because you can’t spell SDN without the D and you’re as D as they come! Dutiful, diligent, and most importantly, decisive. You are not afraid to make the tough calls and stick to your guns when things get dicey. But remember that although it can feel like you’re alone behind the desk, you’re part of a team that truly values you. Welcome to SDN and we look forward to working with you."

"Congratulations! You’re an SDN Janitor! A sanitation specialist and the unsung heroes of any SDN branch, you take great care in the small details and are attuned to the needs of everyone around you. A day at SDN can’t run smoothly without the tireless efforts of folks like you. Empathetic, thoughtful, and considerate, don’t forget to celebrate your accomplishments and seize the spotlight when the right moment arises. Welcome to SDN; it will shine even brighter because of you."

"Congratulations! An exciting and invigorating new chapter awaits you at SDN’s Phoenix Program! The Phoenix Program offers a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, 401K matching, and most importantly an honest, consistent paycheck. Seize the opportunity to use your powers for good today! Welcome to SDN and we look forward to working with you."

Phoenix Program

At SDN, eight former villains were chosen from those who signed up and placed on the Z-Team. However, owing to the team's less than welcoming approach to every dispatcher assigned to them, such as Flambae setting one dispatcher's car on fire, they tend to quit in droves. As a result of this and less than optimal results, the program was on the verge of being shut down.

The SDN's Phoenix Program reforms villains to work as heroes for hire under their banner. Chase recruited Robert Robertson to serve as Team Z's handler for the Phoenix Program.

Blonde blazer

Blonde Blazer represents the "golden age of supers". She is "honorably courageous with a generous spirit and a strong dose of corporate-approved dorkiness - an old soul who's young at heart and looking to keep the business of heroism feeling fresh and personal."

Blonde Blazer shows kindness, gentleness, and respect to all of her friends and allies. In the SDN office, Blonde Blazer is shown to be friendly, welcoming and encouraging towards her subordinates and co-workers.

She believes in the Phoenix Program with all her heart. Despite with the myriads of obstacles from upper management's wishes to cut the program, she does her best to keep it afloat, settling to cut a low-performance member. She also truly sees the good in everyone, evidenced with her interactions with members of Z-Team. Her sincerely wanting to give Robert another shot at redemption in the superhero business shows her enduring faith that everyone is capable if given the chance.

Outside her work life, however, Blonde Blazer struggles with her superhero identity and her fear that no one will ever care who she is behind the mask. Her desire is to settle down and focus on building a family of her own, finding true love instead of fighting for validation as a hero.

Blonde Blazer, as her name suggests, is a blonde-haired young woman with blue eyes. She is tall and leggy, being slightly taller than Robert, with a slender build and an athletic physique. Blonde Blazer's superhero outfit consists of a few components — a grey skintight bodysuit with a blue sleeveless leotard over as an outer layer, navy elbow-length gloves and thigh-high boots. She also wears a short yellow waist-length cape with a red jewel on her chest, and a blue upper-face mask with holes cut out for her eyes.

her appearance is in part a side-effect of the transformation process that gifts her powers. As Mandy, she is much shorter, less muscular, and has brunette rather than blonde hair.

Robert

Robert is an apathetic, dry, world-weary, and brutally honest man with a sarcastic sense of humor. Robert can also be prone to violence when pushed. Even still, he rarely loses his nonchalant behavior in these situations; often just making sardonic remarks, as shown during his interactions with Flambae Overall, Robert is a heroic and selfless man who has been efficiently doing hero's work for years despite lacking superpowers and being scorned by others for it.

Robert is portrayed as a deeply isolated individual whose life has been consumed by his role as z-team lead. With no surviving family and few personal connections, he exists in near-total solitude, having prioritized his ‘dispatch duties’ over social relationships. This dynamic begins to shift in subsequent as Robert gradually forms meaningful bonds with fellow heroes, most notably Blonde Blazer and Invisigal. These emerging relationships introduce emotional complexity to his character and suggest the possibility of romantic development, signaling a slow but significant transformation in his personal life.

Robert talks about having seasonal depression, which explains his lack of drive or interest in anything outside aside from going to work. He often shows signs of passive suicidal thoughts—not that he actually wants to die.

Robert is a slim, but toned, man, with a somewhat rugged appearance, short auburn hair, brown eyes, peach skin, and freckles across his face. Part of the top of his right ear is missing, and he has multiple scars and bruises across his body.

His work uniform consists of a light blue button down shirt with the SDN logo above the pocket on his left chest, dark gray slacks, and brown shoes. He tends to roll up his sleeves and leave his shirt partially untucked

Chase

During his younger years, Chase was mostly laid-back. As Robert's older brotherly figure, he tried to help Robert deal with his emotions, although with questionable comparisons and wording. Being left with an elderly appearance that does not match his age has left Chase often displaying a very acerbic demeanor as a result of believing there is no such thing a karma to come around to help. In addition, his naĂŻve view on Shroud which resulted in Mecha Man Astral's death makes him view all villains, past and current, as the bane of society. Having a black and white concept of what constitutes heroes and villains, this further drives his bitterness towards the Z-Team, even though they all do good and take the Phoenix Program as an opportunity to become better people. He absolutely adores dogs.

Chase looks like an old man, but in fact he is a nearly 40-year-old man trapped in an old man's body. In most of his appearances, he has a slick-back afro and a large mustache, while the hair on his head is all white. He has several visible liver spots and predominant forehead wrinkles, slender limbs, and a tiny, but noticeable, protruding stomach. He slouches forwards most of the time. He dons a yellow sweater over his SDN shirt. He wears black khakis and a belt with a lightning symbol.

Royd

Royd is very chummy and a kind-hearted man. He likes making new friends and joke around. His joyful personality can sometimes lead him to awkward situations. While giving impression of being a bit "simple" he is actually a technological genius capable of developing and fixing the most advanced technological equipment.

Royd is very tall and muscular, with long, black hair and brown eyes. He has a large tattoo on his right arm. He wears the standard-issue SDN work uniform along with large orange wristbands on each wrist. When he has to read over documents more closely, he will put on reading glasses.

Due to three other workers at SDN also being named Roy, he tends to go by "Royd" to differentiate himself, though he's not sure how this came to be.

Golem

A peace-loving sentient mud giant, Golem is as chill as he is tall. Very few things emotionally affect him, and he rarely deviates from his laid-back personality on or off duty. He is not very intelligent and takes a longer time to understand jokes, like when Robert "offers" Golem a seat by throwing it at him. It is inferred his relaxed personality may be a result of his tendency to get drunk a lot. However, when he does get emotional, he becomes very emotional. When Invisigal gets suspended, he binges drinks and cries as a coping mechanism. He is also very excited when he gets to join the Z-Team in their bar fight at The Sardine. Additionally, possibly owing to his history of misdemeanors which can be attributed to his big size, it is visually evident he is insulted by Robert rebuking him for not being mindful of his size, even though he never means intentional harm, although he does not hold onto the grudge for long. Blonde Blazer believes he joined the program as he is lonely, and he also takes offense when threatened to be cut from the Phoenix Program. It is also indicated that Golem is an animal lover. If Golem is sent to certain calls dealing with animals or creatures, an intervention option will be available for Golem, such as fathering a baby Kaiju or befriending a tiger that was originally reported as a cat.

Golem is a large monster made of clay, dirt, mud and rocks as well as spare mechanical plates and tubing. He is mostly humanoid in shape, posessing two legs, two arms, a head and even yellow eyes. He had difficulty squeezing through doors due to his size.

Morphological Being: Golem is described as a sentient construct of dirt and other elements. Earth Mimicry: Being made of elements that constitute the ground, he is able to enter and leave patches of dirt as a means of traveling, hiding himself, or performing sudden attacks on enemies. Regenerative Healing. Material projection: As seen from the bar fight in The Sardine, Golem absorbs billiard balls.

Malevola

Malevola is one of the more emotionally mature and level-headed personalities in the Z-Team. Even in times when she is expressing discontent or displaying more negative emotions, she tends to keep the tone of her voice calm, She is also upfront with her feelings, guessing whether Robert had powers or not is a waste of time. But there are occasions she does let her emotions proceed herself, such as attacking Invisigal after she trips Malevola, throwing a mug with coffee still in it at Robert for not giving hint sufficient enough to narrow down who his superhero identity is. However, she can be friendly, or even flirty, when she wants. After fighting The Red Ring at The Sardine, she offers Robert a drink to ice his wounds. She also flirts with Robert on several occasions during his housewarming party.

Malevola presents as a tall woman, with a slender and muscular appearence, but with red skin, pupil-less yellow eyes, a demon tail, and 2 large, demon horns protruding out of the sides of her head. She wears a white leotard with denim shorts and black high heels. She carries her weapon, a large broadsword, on her back.

coupé

She takes all jobs professionally, even if they seem menial to her, such as retrieving a child's balloon. She takes pride in her abilities, describing herself as "swift as the night, sharp as my knife." She also has no qualms about murdering others "as they see fit," despite that being a HR violation. Although her ambitions may be dubious as she claims she works with the SDN since they pay her on time, as opposed as a chance to better herself. However, she has other less-threatening sides to her. When off duty, she exhibits a more laid-back, albeit still poignant, manner of talking, although that goes out the window when she reaches her threshold of alcohol. When present to Robert's housewarming party, she is able to let herself go and dance with other member. She can show other emotions such as a fear when stating she needs the job after Robert's speech after a very chaotic dispatch. She understands humor, laughing at Robert's dry rebuttal to Flambae at Crypto, and she can call others names in a mocking tone. She's a very passionate reader, especially fond of romantasy. She expresses frustration when the blackout gets in the way of her finding out how the story ends. She loves her knives. She gets upset when others take her knives without permission. She also hates the ocean.

Coupé is a tall woman with short black hair and yellow eyes. She wears a black, form fitting outfit with silver details and a silver domino mask. She has matching knee high silver, armored boots and her arms likewise have some armor covering her shoulders and the outside part of her arms, down to the back of her hands. Her suit includes black and silver mechanical wings and she keeps some of her daggers stored behind each shoulder, with the blades jutting outward.

flambae

Flambae, much like the powers he wields, is a hot head with a case of bad temper. Highly prideful, Unsurprisingly, he is a pyromaniac who ignites objects either for fun or to relieve stress, setting a massive fire in the suburbs after being mocked by his teammates. He also holds grudges for a rather long time. Flambae is also willing to accept when he is wrong. Flambae recognizes the unconditionality of his relationship with Robert and the Z-Team for them to act like nothing happened, wishing to pay that forward to Invisigal who was suspended for unintentionally harming Chase's health. He is also straightforward about addressing things that concern him, not wanting to avoid the topic of Chase possibility dying after saving Invisigal as he knows Chase will not recuperate even if people do not talk about it. Flambae is rather perceptive to others' words. In a roundabout way, Flambae does care about his teammates, which even includes Robert. When Robert struggles on the bench press, Flambae helps him out. Even though Flambae chides him for bench-pressing without a spotter, he reminds Robert is an integral asset to the Z-Team behind insults.

Flambae appears as a tall and fit man with dark brown hair tied into a ponytail, with a single strand of hair dangling across his forehead. He is missing his ring and pinky finger on his right hand. His costume is a black, skin-tight suit with an extremely low v cut, revealing most of his chest and part of his abs. He has flame motifs around the V cut, hands, and legs.

prisim

Prism is a very flashy, dramatic, but charismatic diva. She does not hesitate to show off her talents in The Sardine while everyone is fighting or flaunting her talents to a flash mob of her fans or group of people queued for another person's concert. She likes to request for her "trailer," too. She carries her phone around at all times, often staring at it or taking picture of her surroundings, even during serious conversations. She also does not take kindly to being insulted to the pointing of getting out of her chair to threaten Punch Up into shutting up after being called "Lady Haha” after Robert rudely insults her with microaggressions or threatening Malevola with a fist when Malevola confirms she knows Prism never had a dad, despite Prism having told her before. However, she takes her job very seriously. She gets excited upon being dispatched and successfully completing missions. She is also considerate about the team as a whole. When Chase is hospitalized, Flambae brings up the possibility of his death, and she displays empathy by hinting Flambae to not mention the grave subject while Robert is on the line.

Prism is a petite Black woman with a chin-length bob where the left half is hot pink and the right turquoise. She has a beauty mark on her right cheek and, while she has brown eyes, she wears a teal visor that partially conceals them. Her outfit consists of a black body suit with a thin gold line down the middle of it and around the base of her neck, with a single gold hoop where the lines meet. She also wears long gloves that go up to her mid-arm. Each glove matches their respective hair color for each side (pink on left, turquoise on right) and are capped off by a large, gold band. Both of her thigh high boots are turquoise.

Punch up

Punch Up is a hearty person. What he does not have in height and stature, he makes up in strength and personality. He enjoys fighting, even when there is a chance he will not win. And even when he does not win, he does not let losses break his spirit.

Punch Up can be seen as both confronting and non-confronting. The day after Coupé is cut from the team, he plays a prank on Robert by putting pornography with loud audio on his computer as revenge. At the same time, on the same day, he will occasionally reject being dispatched on missions and clock out early in a respectful manner.

Punch Up is a short, muscular man with short black hair, a mustache, and green eyes. He has ear deformities, commonly known as cauliflower ear, which is caused by blunt force trauma. He has a large rose tattoo on his left forearm.

Superhuman Strength & Durability: With his deal with the sorceress, Punch Up possesses 'the strength of ten men'. He is also immune to at least knife stabbing, but this could extend to any penetrative weaponry. His nose, however, can be broken, so it is safe to assume that blunt force trauma still causes injuries Picnokinesis: The power to alter the density of an object or oneself. While this has not been shown overtly, it is stated on his file that he possesses this ability. Pain Immunity: Punch Up is able to take heavy amounts of damage without slowing down. Best example is being able to repeatedly punch Toxic, whose body is covered in a corrosive material without even flinching. Healing Factor: Punch Up seems to possess a minor healing factor, with small wounds such as when he pulls a piece of glass from his arm healing almost instantly.

Sonar

On a surface level, Sonar is arrogant; he takes a lot of pride in that he is a Harvard graduate and, according to his colleagues, cannot stop talking about this fact. He is also aloof. When he fails missions, he claims he wasn't trying as hard. Despite these negative sides, Sonar still cares about others, not just malevola, when Chase gets hospitalized, and claiming to eat someone if Waterboy is dead when rescuing him. Additionally, he knows when to drop his ego, such as thanking Robert for keeping him in the Z-Team despite it being hard to voice out. Sonar fails to understand jokes, when Robert Robertson introduces himself just for his team to laugh at his name, which Sonar starts repeating "Robert Robertson" to attempt to comprehend what's funny about Robert's full name. As a result of his Chiropteran physiology, Sonar enjoys eating insects and small mammals such as rats, though he is also capable of eating human food like Twinkies and tacos. He occasionally needs to scream to identify his surroundings via echolocation, and according to Coupé, frequently relieves himself in the parking lot of the Superhero Dispatch Network headquarters.

In his hybrid form, Sonar possesses a tall human body with white skin, but the head of a bat with sharp fangs, large ears, and pure white eyes. He has fluffy gray fur and a pink snout. He often wears a navy-blue suit with a red tie and black dress pants. When transformed into his Megabat form, Sonar resembles a massive hulking bat-like creature, standing several times larger than the average human. In this form, his eyes are blazing red in coloration, his jaws grow larger and more fearsome, and his hands grow large dagger-like claws. Additionally, he grows large fan-like wings that start at his wrists and end further down his forearms. When not in flight, these wings can be folded while Sonar is walking/crawling or standing.

Invisigal

Immature, snarky, self-destructive, cynical, sardonic, and world-wise, Invisigal is quick to get aggressive both verbally and physically, often snapping at co-workers and superiors. She struggles with owning up to her mistakes and taking advice, a flaw made clear when she assaults Robert after he calls her out for a mission failure caused by her defiance. She also has a habit of flirting and making lewd comments toward Robert throughout the game, regardless of whether there’s any romance involved or if he shows no interest at all.

Despite her usual demeanor, there are moments where she seems to genuinely crave Robert’s respect and approval—like when, after the first day, she leaves a doughnut on his desk, only to later smash it all over his keyboard out of pure pettiness following an argument that ended with her hitting him in the face. Later, when Robert’s mecha suit explodes due to a faulty prototype, Inivisigal takes the lead in tracking down the real Astral Pulse. Her need for recognition also appears to extend to the rest of the Z-Team, and to Chase as well.

She says she has ADHD, which probably plays a role in her being inattentive, impulsive, and prone to emotional outbursts.

Invisigal is a young woman with a slim build, short spiky dark violet hair, and brown eyes. She wears a pink cropped jacket over a black cropped shirt, matched with dark, skintight polyester slacks and combat boots. A small silver ring decorates her septum piercing.

Invisigal has the ability to turn invisible at will when holding her breath. When doing so, she turns not only herself but anything she is wearing and holding invisible. In addition to her powers, Invisigal possesses a great degree of hand-to-hand combat skills, allowing her to take on goons twice her size as well as several of them at once. Invisigal's asthma prevents her from utilizing her powers to their full potential, considering they only work when she is holding her breath.

Water boy

Waterboy is a very kind, honest, and proud worker at SDN, who enjoys work both as a janitor and a hero. However, he is shown on multiple occasions to freak out or get nervous. After Robert's advice upon being recruited for Z-Team, Waterboy quickly becomes more confident in subsequent episodes, stuttering less and forming clearer sentences when speaking. Waterboy even shows concern to others he may not be close with. When Chase falls into a coma, Waterboy is evidently very affected by the situation that he gets so angry as to throw a chair at a vending machine. Despite his confidence issues, he is determined to be a hero and stands up for people in need. He may doubt himself, but he is not a coward. He literally throws himself into danger for what and whom he cares about. His comfort level is narrow but he can and will move out of it if needed.

Waterboy is a lanky, young man with auburn hair and grey eyes. He wears a blue and yellow wetsuit and blue swimming goggles.

Water Expulsion: Can expel water from his mouth, and presumably other parts of his body, as he is shown to be sweating water constantly. Superhuman Strength: As referenced by Flambae and Punch Up, he possesses physical strength that exceeds human limitations despite his stature, though cannot achieve his full potential due to lack of training and self-esteem.
