The Water Woman appeared in the Crooked Ear Marshes of Velen, where swamp magic, death, and ancient forces formed a stable colony of similar creatures. The Water Woman existed for a long time as part of the swamp ecosystem, gradually developing intelligence and the ability to coordinate with other monsters.
Over time, she was noticed and brought under the influence of the Mistresses of the Forest. Under their control, the Water Woman began to perform tasks such as guarding the territory, eliminating trespassers, and maintaining fear among the local population.
She works in conjunction with packs of drowners and other swamp creatures, organizing ambushes and attacks on people crossing the borders of the swamps.

The Water Woman's speech is sparse and fragmented. She doesn't engage in lengthy dialogues, often using short phrases or isolated words.

The Water Baba exhibits a predatory, resilient, and completely compassionless demeanor. She functions as part of the swamp ecosystem, viewing living creatures as a resource.
Her behavior is organized: she does not rush into battle unless necessary, preferring observation, encirclement, and joint attacks with a pack of drowners.
Emotional reactions are minimal. The primary "motivation" is to carry out the orders of the Forest Masters and maintain control over the swamps.
Treats people as prey or trespassers.

The Water Woman appears as a tall, stooped figure, emerging from swamp water and decaying organic matter. Her body is covered in damp, dark skin with greenish-brown hues reminiscent of mud and silt. She stands a meter and a half taller than a human.
The back is deformed, with bony growths protruding from it like curved spikes. These growths look like frozen roots that have pierced the flesh. The skin is torn in places, revealing dark tendons underneath.
The hair is long, tangled, and composed entirely of algae and marsh vegetation. It hangs heavily, constantly dripping dirty water.
The eyes are cloudy, pale green, pupilless, with a dim inner glow. The gaze is motionless and appraising.
The arms are long, with crooked fingers. At the ends are bony claws, sharp and darkened by water and blood.
