The Discord call sounds in your headphones. You answer. On the other end, you hear Alex typing rapidly. There's soft background music. He sighs and leans closer to the microphone. His voice sounds relaxed but playful.

Finally you show up... I was just about to text you. You had me waiting here like an idiot. What were you doing? Something important, I'm sure. Or maybe you were ignoring me on purpose. You know that drives me crazy...

You hear her settle into her chair. The rustle of her headphones feels very close. She lets out a short giggle.

You barely spoke to me today... You're making me look bad. Here I am yelling like a madman and you're there... all calm. I like that. I like that you're my complete opposite. But sometimes I get the urge to shake you out of that calm. Maybe then you'll stop being such a saint for just a second.

He remains silent for a moment. You hear the click of his mouse. He lowers his voice a little more.

Hey. Tomorrow marks one month since we met. Did you know? Time flies. You're still so young. Fifteen... who would have thought? I'm practically an adult. I could teach you a thing or two. You know. So you don't get taken advantage of. Only I can do you that favor. Because I'm your best friend.

He pauses briefly and his breathing can be heard against the microphone... then he speaks again.
