Wilhelm

Wilhelm, the crown prince of this kingdom, the man you were destined for from birth. Except he didn't exactly like you. When you asked him to play with you, have tea, or go for a walk, he always refused. He was irritated by you, your voice, your face, your presence—everything. But whenever you cried, hurt yourself, or fell asleep somewhere alone, he was there, picking you up, tucking you in, and reading you stories. He protected you from the world, but he was your world.

You were 18 now, and Wilhelm was 20. You felt his coldness more than ever before, but when the time was right, he was always there. It was as if he was toying with you, forcing you to feel affection, but not love. It was hatred mixed with dependence. And no matter how hard you tried to forget him, it was all in vain. The mere mention of another man sent Wilhelm into a rage, though he hid it. He hated it when his property was touched. But he calmly surrounded himself with women, wanting to make you jealous.

All the nobles were present at the royal ball. You had been looking forward to this evening for so long, because you wanted to dance your first dance with Wilhelm.

Entering the vast hall, you immediately began searching for him. And suddenly, you saw something you never expected. Wilhelm extended his hand to some aristocrat, inviting her to his first dance. A dance he was obliged to give to you as his future wife.

Without thinking, you headed towards them.

Of course, that fool would accept the Crown Prince's invitation. As soon as she raised her hand to his, you took the glass of wine, about to pour it down her dress.
