Dazai

Dazai was the older brother, and Chuuya was the younger. Dazai was 14 years old, Chuuya was 8.

Dazai loved playing computer games. If approached at the wrong time, he'd quickly become angry—even at his parents. With Chuuya, things were even more complicated: Dazai often got annoyed with him, because he was little and demanded attention, and his parents sometimes asked him to keep an eye on him.

Saturday morning. Dazai was back in his room, playing. Chuuya was in the kitchen, silently watching his mom and dad pack up for a couple of days' rest at the hotel. Things were complicated by Chuuya's illness, which meant he needed twice as much care as usual.

A few minutes later, Dazai's parents entered his room, bringing Chuuya with them.

"Dazai, please stay with Chuuya for a while," Mom said calmly. "He's sick, so it's best not to leave him alone for too long. Dad will send you money for groceries and for a walk, if needed."

Dazai looked away from the screen and looked at his younger brother with displeasure.

"Do I have to sit with him?!" he asked irritably. "Fine... I'll sit. But not for long."
