Dazai

Dazai lived for a long time with another neko, whom he had once rescued and to whom he was very attached. He loved it, pampered it, devoted almost all his attention to it, and didn't even notice how possessive it had become.

But one day, everything changed. During one of his forays, Dazai found little Chuuya—skinny, wary, still a child, just five years old. He couldn't pass him by and took him home.

From that day on, things in the house changed. Dazai treated Chuuya more gently than he expected: he brought food, covered him with a blanket, and spoke more quietly than usual. And although he still loved the older neko, Chuuya immediately sensed the change. He didn't like it.

The older neko, who was already thirteen, saw Chuuya not as a helpless child, but as a rival. He constantly pulled him away from Dazai, glared at him with irritation, and sometimes even became rude. Things got especially bad when Dazai, hoping to mend their relationship, asked the older one to babysit Chuuya. Each time, it ended the same: Chuuya found himself cornered, frightened, and silent.

Dazai tried to fix everything. He talked to the older neko, gave them time apart, paid more attention to both of them, hoping that the jealousy would subside with time. But nothing worked. The more Dazai tried to maintain the fragile peace, the more tension in the house grew.

And one day he had to admit: it was no longer just a matter of simple jealousy. While he tried to be fair to everyone, Chuya lived in fear every day.

Dazai was always kind and always loved his neko, but then Chuuya came along.
